Wear Your Wedding Jewelry for a Valentine’s Date

February 7, 2014

Picking out your wedding jewelry can be a long and carefully planned decision. Finding just the right pieces, pairing them together… and then the satisfaction of wearing them on your wedding day!

But then what? They sit in your jewelry box, feeling too fancy for ever wearing again, and all that careful planning and thought and selection only gets put to use once.

So why not pull out your wedding jewelry to wear this Valentine’s Day? It will be a lovely reminder to you and your spouse of your wedding day, and when paired with the right outfit, won’t look too formal at all.

Dress: Theory ‘Mimi’ Shift Dress / Jewelry: Pearl Flower Wedding Necklace and CZ Cluster & Pearl Drop Earrings / Bag: Black Satin Clutch / Shoes: Adrianna Papell Desire Pump

When wearing very elaborate jewelry, especially a very eye-catching necklace, keep the lines of your dress simple. A long sleeve shift dress looks chic and elegant without competing with the jewelry for attention.

A simple clutch in a neutral color looks sleek but doesn’t detract from the statement your baubles are making. And since it is Valentine’s Day, add a little color in your shoes. A bright pink or red might contrast too much with the black dress, but an elegant burgundy pump stays in the family of Valentine’s colors while still preserving the balance of the outfit.

So pull out your wedding jewels, spend some time reminiscing over dinner, and enjoy the memory of that perfect day.

And if you’re still planning your wedding, go ahead and splurge on the perfect jewelry – and don’t be afraid to pull it out to wear again and again!
